SHIFT Energy Dashboard to be showcased at the Intelligent Community Forum Summit
June 6-8, 2012

The City of Saint John will be showcasing the Energy Management Dashboard at the 'Coolest Broadband App' arranged by the Intelligent Community Forum. This is part of a 3 day summit being held at New York City from 6 to 8 June. Polytechnic Institute of NYU will be hosting the event. The conference is expected to attract 250-300 people from the public sector, private sector and nonprofits.

SHIFT had been a strategic and development partner with the City of Saint John in implementing this dashboard. So we are excited to see the innovation and technology we worked together to build is now presented to a global audience.

PRESS RELEASE: Energy dashboard provides public glimpse of City’s Energy Management Program
February 21, 2012

The City of Saint John in collaboration with SHIFT Energy launched the public display of the energy performance dashboard system, which gives citizens a chance to see how well the efforts to reduce energy use are working.

The initial launch features the energy management program at the Saint John Transit building, which, in 2011, used 58 percent less energy than a conventional building of the same size. The goal was for the building to use 45 percent less energy. The annual energy savings for 2012 is expected to be over $328,000 or 65 percent less energy.

Gerry Pond, our chairman has recently been nominated as one of three finalists for the Canadian Startup Award for Canadian Angel of 2011.  Gerry has guided the ICT industry within Atlantic Canada (and especially New Brunswick) for over 40 years.  Gerry has been instrumental in the success of a number of IT Startups such as Q1 Labs, iMagicTV, Brovada, Mariner Partners and Radian6.
